Painting Central Park by Roger F Pasquier

Painting Central Park

Published by The Vendome Press 2015

Mr. Pasquier grew up in New York City, and spent a lot of his youth playing in Central Park. In this book he has taken an immense, artfully designed and iconic landscape, and shared with us paintings of Central Park in New York City. Created from renowned artists over the ages; it is an incredible book rich in landscape architecture, history and beauty.

Please enjoy a few of the hundreds of art images you will love in this fine publication. These artists are some favorites of mine and are featured in major museums throughout the world.

George Bellows: A Day In June

Frederick Brosen : Bethesda Fountain Terrace

David Hockney: View from the Mayflower Hotel

Edward Hopper: Bridle Path in Central Park

William Glackens: Winter in the Park

Christo: The Gates Collage

Alex Katz: Bicycle Riding in Central Park

William Zorach: Fifth Avenue from The Plaza

What a wonderfully themed book, Karena; I always enjoy seeing the breadth of individuality in such differing treatments of a central subject. Who will take up their brushes and paint the author with his book under a tree in Central Park?

Dearest Karena,
What a lovely post as we were in Central Park, only 3 weeks ago.
We both were so impressed by its beauty and above all, by its size.
These artists have captured that very well in their different paintings and one certainly could fill several books with the subject.
Thank you for your passion for art and for always sharing with us.
Hugs and happy weekend,
Mariette

Karena,
My first visit to Central Park was only 5 years ago when my oldest son and his wife moved there for a couple of years. On what I was sure would be my last trip, since the kids were moving to Austin, I purchased a copy of a watercolor by a street artist. I love the fond memories of that beautiful park. This is a publication I will definitely put on my list.
xo,
Karen

Hi Karena,
What a book of varied artist view of how they see Central Park ! It's always so interesting to see ones art and how they express them selselve through there brush strokes.
That last water color of the view of high rise buildings really felt most like me and how I would use a piece like this in my home in of course a large grouping.
There is so much wonderful art out there you need one home just to collect it, and another to live.

Thank you beautiful for taking time in sharing what I have been sewing up these days.

See you soon.

Xoxo

I love all the different views and takes on the park. It really opens it up! As usual, you give us something we all want on our coffee table - and to read, too!
