Sundown Sunday Giveaway!

This is a painting I am donating to a lucky winner for The Sundown Sunday Giveaway. This is an original oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas that is 8 x 24. I can see this propped on a bookshelf, over a doorway. Think of new places to hang art. It is very interesting to see a work of art, where you do not expect it!

So you actually have until Next Sunday the 22nd at 10 pm to submit. Tell what you did over this time period to "Pay it Forward" in any little or big way! Don't wait though because everyone will love to see your replies!

PS The shades are just a tad more intense I could not adjust the hue with my camera though.

Pay it Forward? Hmmm, well I helped one of my best friends arrange all the furniture in her new apartment that she just moved into. She is one of the most generous people I know!

I Love doing that for friends also, it is the moving itself and packing that is such a chore! You are very generous!

What a lovely painting. I have a very small pay it forward to tell. I helped 2 folks in the grocery before and after me on line with my coupon card. It's very tiny but I had mine and they didn't and the cashier was not helping out. Every cent helps.

This painting is GORGEOUS! Giving has always been a bit more thrilling for me than receiving.
Your last give-away looks lovely upon Patricia's Sunday shelf, doesn't it?

Hmmm... any chance I can I pay it forward I try. I have been very bless by many.
Would giving time be considered paying it forward? I'm making another CASA visit to my CASA boy today. I cancelled a hair, what is a couple more days walking with a few gray hairs, compare to the highlight of making a few boys feel special and having someone visit. I will bring an after school snack for him and his friends.
Some of my visits my head spins from side to side trying to listen to each and every one of them. These are boys in the system ready to be aged out so you can image the excitment around the table. LOL...

Debra you are the best at sharing and gifting your talent, which is amazing. Joyce, what is more precious than time, and especially to these youth who need you attention.

I spent a day taking my dad to the doctor for a cancer surgery and was glad I could be there for him. It's amazing how when you give, you really end up getting blessed yourself. You are such a bright spot, Karen and your painting is lovely!

Hello Karena, I saw your post on Joni Webb's Cote de Texas. And since I have been yearning for a beautiful painting for our newly redone guest bath, I thought I would take a look. Lo and behold, it would be perfect for our guest bath and many other areas in our home. Just beautiful.

As far as paying it forward, I don't really like to talk about what we do because it sometimes feels like bragging and I don't like that. But I will "share." I have been encouraging a dear friend of mine who is distraught over her daughter's illness. I've been caring for two of my grandchildren until my daughter is settled after her divorce. My husband and I work on Habitat for Humanity homes when we can.

So thrilled I found your wonderful blog to enjoy.

Blessings to you and yours,

~~ Victoria

Victoria, You do a lot and even if you are doing it quietly it still means the world to those you help. I am so thrilled that you like my art!

Karena, love the painting and how generous of you to give it away. As an artist who finds only little bits of time to paint I have a hard time parting with the few completed works I accomplish each year but always love showing off the original works of others.

As for paying it forward I try to simply live with openness and generosity to those I attract into my life. It makes me especially happy when I can do something that I know helps someone and I can remain "under the radar" so to speak.

Also I am passionate about pursuing a career doing something you love and doing it on your own terms. I regularly mentor and encourage others that are trying to do the same.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I always love your comments. What a beautiful painting in this post - so soft and serene.

I wrote a comment after yours, because I wanted to make sure that I did not imply that someone should buy mirrors over art - I agree that a balance is essential (I have too many mirrors now, I know that), and I think great original art is of utmost importance in a house.

...pay it forward...such a simple concept that can produce such miraculous results...

Today I am contemplating the death of a dear friend...dead at the age of 59...much too soon...he and his wife supported me fifteen years ago when my husband died and now I remember the pain that was softened by their caring act of generosity...an act etched in my otherwise foggy memories of such bad circumstances...they truly paid it forward to me and if you were to select my comment I would love to present your beautifully serene painting to a good friend who has lost her husband...my prayers and support are what I will be offering her in the days, months and years to come...(you can read a little of my story here) http://thoughtfullyblendedhearts.blogspot.com/2009/04/just-piece-of-paper-not.html
